We’re delighted to share that since the launch of Christians in Care in the summer 2023, it has flourished, and we are now connected with over 220 Christians working across the care sector. We have seen God at work in beautiful ways as He’s formed a supportive community of carers who love Jesus and want to love like Jesus where they work.
We know each person is priceless and irreplaceable and made in the image of our Saviour. We have the opportunity to remind people of their worth during some of the hardest times in life. We can communicate Christ’s love in the way that we care.
But we know the care sector is experiencing huge pressure. Lack of funding, lack of staff, lack of respect for and value placed on the skill and incredible acts of kindness shown by social care workers and lack of regard to our most vulnerable in society. And there’s the threat of assisted suicide becoming legal and rising cases of modern slavery in the care sector. So, we do all we can to speak Truth into these concerns, to stand with carers feeling under valued and spur them on and remind all Christians that we can step into some of these gaps and show Christ-like love to the vulnerable people God has placed around us.
Our prayer is that we reach more Christians working in the care sector who feel alone and in need of a community that welcomes them with open arms, reminds them that who they are and what they do is precious and God rejoices over them as they serve Him. Could you help us spread the word?
Please consider sharing our invitation with your churches, families, colleagues and communities to help us extend this encouragement and support to more Christians working across the care sector in the UK.
