Sri Lanka Easter Attacks Remembered at Rolls Royce
On April 30th 2019, the Rolls-Royce Multi-Faith Network (MFN) co-ordinated a minute's silence at 12:45pm in remembrance of the atrocities in Sri Lanka.
There was a gathering beside the statue of Sir Henry Royce at 12:30pm. Shakeel Aslam (MFN co-chair) started the reflection period together with Warrick Matthews (one of Rolls' Executive Vice-Presidents). Andy Smith (MFN co-chair) spoke on behalf of the Christian Fellowship and also gave some personal reflections having been in Sri Lanka on Easter Sunday in 2018. Sarah Evans, Rolls-Royce chaplain, led the prayers for the victims.
There was an opportunity for further reflections before 12:45pm and several people spoke including a Muslim gentleman from Sri Lanka.
The event was attended by over 35 people of all faiths and/or having association with Sri Lanka. Attendance included several senior members of Rolls-Royce. Some pictures can be seen below.
