Looking Outwards at Easter!

Sefton easter eggs
Sefton Council Christian Workplace Group was approved by the Council in 2015 as part of its commitment to equality and diversity.  Each week, the group meet and eat lunch together, chat, study the Bible and discuss how it is relevant to work.  These meetings provide support and encouragement to one another and provide an oasis away from the busyness of the office. Meetings are open to anyone and the group offers to pray with people about issues at work or at home.

This Christian Workplace Group has however, gone beyond simply holding weekly meetings and tried to look outwards and to make an impact in the wider organisation. In spring 2017, the group ran the Alpha course jointly with the Christian Group in the Health and Safety Executive.

Easter has always been seen as a special opportunity by the Christian Workplace Group to bring the Good News to the attention of all workplace colleagues and for a number of years they have set out bowls of small Easter eggs in a number of reception areas. This little gift is a reminder of the Easter message that Jesus freely gave his life on the cross and rose from the dead to offer hope to everyone.  This year the Christian Workplace Group has extended this practice to number of new venues including Bootle and Southport Town Halls and the Ainsdale Centre.

Simple but effective!
