Glory Road Ministries
Did you know that there are 500,000 men and women who are professional Drivers in the UK? They often have very unsociable hours, are often away from home for a week or more and therefore unable to get to mid-week church activities and find themselves missing church due to work commitments on Sundays too.
About 12 years ago the Lord got the attention of a Christian, filled him with vision and a passion to support other lonely truckers and together reach out to other drivers with the good news that Jesus loves them. It is only other truckers that know the difficulties and joys of working in their profession and so Glory Road was birthed. It fills the gap that no church can. This organisation is able to impact this profession / sector with Christian values, engaging with managers at truckstops around the UK where you can often find their bibles, Christian books, CDs and tracts.
Glory Road has touched countless lives of truckers and their families with the Good News of Jesus and they are just increasing their impact. June 2015 launched their new sister ministry in Ireland where Keith said, ‘It seems easier to talk about faith issues in Ireland and we are already excited at the numbers of conversations our ministry in Ireland is seeing to Jesus.’
Over the summer many Christians head to big national Christian conferences but not Glory Road. They are already booked into 8 national Truck Shows such as Truck Fest, where they will be reaching out to other truckers to raise their profile to find other Christian truckers to support within their network, and to be a presence of God’s Love at what is often a very ‘macho’ faithless environment.
In your Christian Workplace Groups and perhaps church home groups this week, stop to pray for truckers and ask for God to use Glory Road to win many truckers and their families to Christ this summer.
