And Our Newest Ambassador is...
You will have seen the above pic in other Transform Work news... having supported Andy Smith for over a decade as he led his Christian Workplace Group, we are now thrilled to have him on team with Transform Work as our East Midlands Ambassador.
Background
In 2024, Andy Smith retired from Rolls-Royce after over 37 years service. He initially worked in turbine aero-thermal research and methods before moving onto programme management of turbine and combustion research and technology.
During his entire career, Andy was an active member of Christian Workplace Groups. In 2016, after a talk by TransformWork, Andy felt challenged to pursue formal recognition of Christian Workplace Groups within Rolls-Royce. This led to the foundation of the Rolls-Royce Multi-Faith Network (MFN) in 2017 and Andy was co-chair until he retired in 2024. Within the scope of MFN, the Christian network was able to grow and prosper.
Andy's association with MFN culminated in March 2024, when Rolls-Royce was awarded first place in the FTSE 100 as a faith friendly workplace by the REDI index.
Since retiring, Andy has continued his association with TransformWork becoming an ambassador operating in the East Midlands and also with the Faith At Work movement.
What do you hope to achieve during your time with Transform Work in your Ambassador role in the East Midlands?
To initially grow a community of Christian Workplace Group leaders within the East Midlands and encourage these groups to flourish within their workplaces.I am keen to support these leaders by providing a forum where ideas and challenges can be shared.
As my church has hubs in Derby, Leicester and Nottingham, I am hoping to starting with them. There is a wider city vision in Derby - not sure if Nottingham or Leicester have similar, so would like to check there.
It was also great to be involved with the JLR Christian Group's national workplace conference at the start of this year based in East Midlands. So am keen to support that initiative again and with the Lord grow more workplace groups that bring Heaven to their organisations.
