Transform Work UK 2019 Celebration and Annual General Meeting
26th February 2019
Transform Work UK held its Annual General Meeting in celebration style in London at the home of the Christian Medical Fellowship and the Lawyers Christian Fellowship on the evening of Tuesday 26th February.
Transform Work UK were privileged to have Rev Dr Clifford Hill and his wife Monica with us. Clifford was one of the 'founding fathers' this ministry 16 years ago when he and Ros felt the call of the Lord to work to encourage Christians to change the values of our nation through Christian Workplace Groups.
In a special meeting of the Trustees and Core Team prior to the official opening of the AGM, Clifford and his wife Monica shared a word from the Lord to Transform Work UK. He referenced Isaiah 54 v 2 and encouraged us to "enlarge the place of our tent .. .stretch the curtains wide and not to hold back. We are to lengthen our cords and strengthen our stakes, for we will spread out to the right and the left". He then suggested that this critical time in our nation's history offers a tremendous opportunity for us to spread the gospel in our workplaces as we counter uncertainty and fear with the very real confidence we have in trusting a loving and merciful God.
Ros welcomed over 50 Transform Work UK contacts to the meeting, including several of our Ambassadors and some significant Christian Workplace Group leaders. After these introductions we entered into a wonderful time of worship led by our Trustee Ofonimeh Abudu. We were drawn close to the Lord and a timely word of encouragement was brought reminding us of our unity in Christ and how powerful this can be.
Transform Work UK's Ambassador Team Leader Elizabeth Ukiomogbe then spoke of the work of the expanding Ambassador team, and introduced several Christian Workplace Group leaders who gave testimony of some wonderful things God has been doing in their workplaces. They outlined the different ways in which their groups have been seeking to reach their workplace colleagues and how positive relationships with management had been developed.
Trevor Payne, Chair of Trustees, then gave an overview of the previous year's activities and development. There had been considerable growth in 2018, with some changes in both staff and procedures designed to improve relationships and efficiency. He then presented the financial position of TWUK. In terms of the vision for future growth and development this of course remains a challenge; however, there was confidence in God's provision.
The formal business of the AGM was then conducted with the signature of the minutes of the previous meeting; the appointment of an independent examiner for the year 2018-2019 and the presentation of the Trustees' Annual Report and Accounts to 31st January 2018. There was no requirement for the election of any officers this year.
Ros then recast this vision for Transform Work UK - 'more Lord, more workers' - expressing the desire to increase the number of Ambassadors from the current 12 to a target of 72.
The event closed with a further time of worship and prayer. A number of those present gave thanks to God for all that had been achieved over the past year and we petitioned the Lord for further blessing and increase according to His word as given by Rev Dr Hill.
