Brent Civic Centre Christian Fellowship
It was a real privilege recently to visit the Brent Civic Centre Christian Fellowship. The Christian Workplace Group at Brent Council is a very active group! The numbers in the group have been swelled by the relocation over the past year of staff from several buildings into one brand new facility just opposite Wembley Stadium. The group is going from strength to strength, and are just about to break through the 150-member mark!
The group meets on a Wednesday in the civic centre's 'marriage room' for 30 minutes. And it's a mighty 30 minutes!!! The room is big, bright and airy, and that reflects the God-centred character of this group! The fellowship group certainly make good use of the space available!
In recent weeks the group have been sharing testimonies in their 'Worship on Wednesdays' sessions. These have proved to be hugely encouraging times as the work of God has been made known!
It was a pleasure to present to the group the work of Transform Work UK in encouraging Christians in the workplace, and to describe the work being done to re-constitute the London Councils Christian Network. Some good discussion followed during questions over how we can reach out to colleagues and our organisation and be light for Jesus in the workplace.
It was good to sing, to talk and to pray together! Well done to Pastor Femi Idowu and his leadership team of Derrick Boyce, Nicky Mpanzu and Lade Ogunseitan for the work they are doing in taking this large group forward!
